Your love is a symphony. All around me. Running through me. -- "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:40

I had a friend's football gloves, but completely forgot to get it to her. By the time I realized, I was already in the train station on the way back to Brooklyn. I tried calling from inside the train station, but the pay phone wasn't really working. Yeah there are still some pay phones lying around! I was thinking about just leaving, but I knew she needed them so I got out the train station to get it to her.

SIIIIIR!
So I went biking with some friends yesterday and on the way I noticed a family walking on the other side of the block. The pops was holding the child in his arms while the momma was walking with the stroller ahead of them. The pops had all his attention on his son that he didn't notice his son kicking off one of shoes, dropping it on the sidewalk. I didn't really know what to do since I was across the street in the city with two-way traffic between us so I just screamed "SIIIIR! SIIIIR! SIIIR WITH THE BABY! YOU DROPPED A SHOE!" and the momma turned around first (guess when you're a mom and you hear "baby" you immediately think of your own haha) then the pops, realized what happened, and picked up the shoe.
Cool story bro..hahaha

OH.SNAP.
I am so sorry for totally being MIA this summer! TERRIBLE :( A sister of mine actually brought up this blog last night. I've been avoiding coming back cause I felt ashamed for giving up halfway through the year. My apologies! But this summer was AMAZING. I got to know a lot of friends better and it was really stressful at some points, but I definitely showed and received a lot of love & kindness. So thank you everyone who made my summer what it was. I really really appreciate. And now I really really miss the summer.
Anyway! September started not too long ago, so I will restart this month!
1st: My cousin had summer vacation homework and needed to go to a museum so I accompanied her =)
2nd-5th: SUMMER CONFERENCE! WHAT WHAT! Oh my gaaa, so much love! I was super uptight and stressed at different times..more in the beginning (I think), but with some advice and good good conversations and memorable times of prayer from a lot of people, I felt much calmer and ready for the year. I shared that I burned out this summer and with all the stress, I kind of forgot about the joy in serving. During testimony night and hearing everyone share, I was reminded of the joy in the heart of serving. During the weekend, I was also reminded of that excitement I used to get when praying with and for others. Thank you thank you thank you. I'm coming back!
6th: A friend was going back to school so I accompanied him to the bus =)
7th: A friend of mine drove me home after prayer meeting. Not sure if he wanted to, but it was really nice of him. Thanks!
8th: A fairly new friend of mine had bought those 2 movie tickets for $9 a while ago through Fandango. The deal is supposed to expire today and he knew he wasn't going to use it so he offered it to me and a couple of friends for free so that was really generous of him.
9th: I'm helping a friend with a project so I had to run some errands to get materials. FUN :) Saw a man on the street with a sign that said "Looking for some kindness" and at first I just walked away as usual, but I just felt something and I saw a hot dog stand a few feet away so I decided to get him something small. It wasn't much of a conversation, but he was really grateful. I need to stop walking by..

Day 196.
A friend who's interning away from home needed something from home. I semi live in his area, so he called me to see if I could pick it up for him since I'm gonna see him over the weekend. I was able to, so sure! :)

Days 194-95.
My brother and I watch a lot of Food Network and one of our favorite shows is Best Thing I Ever Ate. Yesterday, he had plans to go to one of the restaurants featured on the show and he offered to bring some food home for me. It was REALLY good. Turns out a friend actually bought it for me. Thanks thanks!
Today I was really really bummed after failing my road test, but all my friends were really sweet and caring and cheered me up a bit. I've also been really stressed just with a lot of planning and being the people pleaser I am, I get really :( when people aren't happy. By the end of the day I was just shot. I wanted to go hide in a corner. And I kind of tend to turn any not so good emotions into anger so I started getting all pent up, and the fastest way to release that is to punch something, but that obviously isn't the most effective method. So a friend that noticed all of this, didn't say anything but put her hand on my arm to calm me down and when I stood up she just opened her arms for a hug. Hugs. Best! That did the trick. Later on she helped talk me through what I was feeling and gave me words of reassurement & encouragement. THANKS!

Days 180-193.
Ah memory is a bit scratchy..that's what I get for being so behind huh.
--
Had a picnic with two special friends :) It was really nice because one of them has been super busy so it was great to see her. Thanks for taking time out of your crazy schedule!
Helped babysit a really big cutie with some friends and it's been really awesome to see friends give up some time to spend with the cutie. And the cutie's parents have been really great too to always feed us and just talk with us to see what's up with us and give us some wise advice.
Stayed over some friends' and they were gracious hosts. I was a bit hesitant to go because I've been incredibly unproductive, but wanted to spend time with them especially since one of them was gonna go MIA when her internship started.
Spending the past day or two with my friends, for the most part, we took turns treating each other. It was sweet since we're all unemployed haha
Spent the day with some friends and some of our plans didn't pan out so we were trying to figure out what to do. We ended up loitering around for a long while as usual. Called my brother to see if he was home and ask if it was okay if some friends came over so we ended up going to my place.
A really good friend needed help executing something but had his hands tied because of work. I think he did a terrible job of managing his time, but boys will be boys huh. I had some extra time so I went to his work place and helped him out. A friend drove me home after a really long night. Thanks!
Went to a church picnic and some folk left early so momma needed help cleaning and packing. It was around the time everyone was eating or food coma-ed out, but I had finished eating so I helped.
I was feeling super tired from the weekend, but someone from my family church had his kids visiting from Korea for the summer and they don't have much to do over the week cause their dad works. So with some other kids and my brother, we took them out to the city to visit a museum and go eat.
A friend needed to pay her tuition bill, but there's an additional fee to pay online. So she had to go to school to pay it, but she had work. I had some extra time so I offered to go for her and pay it so she wouldn't have to miss work.
Stayed over a friend's because her parents didn't want her to stay home alone. She had work in the morning, but let me stay and sleep in. She wrote me a sweet note and left it by glasses so I would see. (Waking up to handwritten post it notes are greater than texts!..but I see how that can be hard to execute haha).
Someone wanted to borrow a book of mine I had so sure!
A friend needed some support dealing with some people so I tried to help though it wasn't that successful.
Experienced lots of love! I love sweet talks and had a handful of those..sweet! Thanks thanks thanks :)
Momma needed help running some errands and I was available so sure!

Fourth of July

The nicest thing of living by the water is that you get to see fireworks from your own window rather than camping outside with heat and mosquitos.
Last night we invited friends over to enjoy the fireworks with us. I'm terrible at hosting guests but we cleaned up the house and bought marinated meat for Korean Bbq to welcome them. They also brought a lot of good food! It feels nice with the accompany of friends and good food.
